Mary's Mental Hide & Seek

This is actually something that we posted in our Road Trip blog a while back, but considering the number of people that are not able to visit loved ones, we thought we would re-post it as a potential tool for people to interact with children. You can pretend you are playing at either your home or your loved one’s home. Unique times call for unique ideas…

Mary’s Mental Hide & Seek is a great little game our grandmother would play when all the grandchildren were at her house.  We first decide on a location (your home, your loved ones home or someplace everyone knows well). Everyone picks a place within that location to “mentally-hide”. You do not share your location with anyone else.

Then, in clockwise order starting with the youngest, everyone takes turns asking questions to figure out where everyone else is hiding. On your turn, you could ask anyone in the group about where he or she is hiding but they have to be able to answer with a yes or no. Now this may sound a little funny, but when we would all start playing and laughing – it was great fun!

Stay well and thank you for doing your part to flatten the curve!!
