Deb's Visit

This week Deb and I were fortunate enough to spend some time together. I have recently moved to a new house and Deb was able to come down to visit. I think she has been the first overnight visitor in all my homes since Mom passed. It is just a thing now! This visit also meant that we had plenty of time to chat with each other, which led to neglecting the blog.

Anyone that knows us knows we love to chat when we get together, so our lapse in writing should be no surprise. We are the type of sisters that do not even have to finish sentences around each other. A practice that has proven frustrating to those around us.

Since our Mother passed away, we have had a very close relationship. We have been through some serious difficulties together, but have remained close friends through it all. I hope everyone that reads this has that person in his or her life. If you are fortunate enough to have that type of person, be sure to treat them well.

While Deb was here, I had to work. To occupy her time she decided to channel our Mother. I mean she made lasagnas, meat pies, two kinds of jam and yellow relish (aka Lady Ashburnham pickles). While I was not working, we decorated rooms and made gifts. In doing all this, it dawned on us how much we are like our mother but in such different ways. I love children and being crafty (when there are clear instructions), while Deb loves to cook and has an eye for decorating. All things that are Mother enjoyed and we enjoy too!!

We are all so busy with our day to day that we often forget about the things that we enjoy. It is important, however, to make time for those things because when you get to do the things you love you are better prepared to get through life’s other tasks. Therefore, we need to take more time to think of what we enjoy and make enjoying them a priority!!
